I'm so close to getting my PC up and running as my daily driver, however, the one thing that I'm stuck on (when it comes to transferring files) is my iTunes Library. My music can be successfully transferred, as well as my music videos, but my movies cannot play in VLC due to iTunes/DRM protection. I've tried pretty much every 'solution' that I've looked up, and the only program that came close to working was Requiem, but it's been 'working' on converting a movie all day. Is there anything I can do to either break the DRM seal or to somehow play the movies by changing the format or something?
I have a few legally purchased movies from itunes. To clear up the technical position.you can't 'remove DRM' because there's nothing to grab on to.like trying to remove the 'zip' from a zip-file or removing the 'mp3' from an mpeg.the whole file is encrypted so that only the original license can unlock it and play it.
Then, with the video playing, there's a chance to grab a duplicate of the pictures and sound and make an unprotected copy. There's many Windows programs offered for that purpose, but nothing I can find for Linux. The closest approach I can think of is a VirtualBox appliance running an evaluation copy of Windows10, then install iTunes and register that appliance as one of your authorised machines, then run a deDRM program in that appliance. Eventually the Windows will start to whinge at you about licensing the machine.different problem. Hi 'MattTwinkleToes',I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well.It would help to know more about your system setup.
